Nokia E71x Released by AT&T

AT&T (NYSE: T) released the Nokia E71x Monday, and the slim smartphone. The smartphone is powered by Symbian S60 3.2, which is somewhat unfamiliar to many U.S. Smartphone buyers. Symbian is the most widely used smartphone operating system in the world, and it can handle multimedia, Web browsing, messaging, voice services, and text editing.

"The trend for messaging, whether email, IM, texting or social networking, is stronger than ever - we are seeing a real shift in the way people prefer to communicate," says David Petts, Vice President and General Manager, AT&T Account, Nokia. "The E71x is one of the most stylish and sophisticated QWERTY smartphones on the market, and it's the ideal companion for people who enjoy easy messaging and connecting with their friends. We are thrilled to now bring this sleek smartphone to people across the United States with AT&T."

The handset has a thin and sleek design, and sports a 2.4-inch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. There's also assisted GPS, expandable memory through the microSD slot, a Flash-capable browser, Bluetooth, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It can use Wi-Fi, EDGE, and 3G.
